1. St. Stephen principal in conversion row
Report: A Delhi court has asked the principal of St. Stephen College Valson Thampu and a college employee Deepak Mukarji to respond by 25 February to a complaint filed by a suspended administrative official of the college. Subha Kumar Dash, the suspended administrative official had filed a complaint against Mr Thampu in which he sought Rs 5 lakh as damages from him and another official of the college for allegedly tarnishing his image. In his complaint, Mr Dash alleged that Mr Thampu was forcing him to convert to Christianity.
2. Sixteen year-old Hindu girl tortured and molested by a Clergy in a Christian Home for a month in West Bengal
Report: A sixteen year-old Hindu girl from a Hooghly-based rehabilitation home was allegedly tortured for a month by a fake clergyman named Simon Islam. According to a complaint filed by Mrs. Sujata Das, a member of District Child Help Line, the fake clergyman, belonging to ‘Gurap Bhastara Christian Home’ had been allegedly torturing and raping the Hindu minor for a month. The victim had been living in the Home for about a year.
