1. Pakistan Hindu Council urges Sharif to prevent atrocities against minorities
Report: The Pakistan Hindu Council condemned the brutal killing of a Christian couple in Punjab province and the kidnapping of Hindu citizens, particularly minor girls. The Council also demanded that the prime minister and provincial chief ministers implement effective and practical legislations to protect minorities, and added that inter-faith harmony and Hindu marriage laws were needed.
2. Dalit-Muslim clashes rock western Uttar Pradesh again
Report: On Tuesday night, Dalits and Muslims clashed at Sonata village in Shamli district over sharing water from a hand-pump. About six people were gravely injured.TheDalits alleged that they were prevented from using the hand-pump in the village. “We were not being allowed to use the hand-pump for the last one year. We used to avail the service of another hand-pump. But now we have no option because it is not working,” villager Ram Babu told the police.
3. Islamic terror groups in Kerala using conversion for furthering militant activities
Report: According to certain reports, youngsters who are in jail for being involved in criminal cases are converted in order to be used for terror activities. Intelligence reports state that conversion activities for terror network are quite rampant in Kochi. Madurai is another hot-spot for planning terror activities.
