The real truth about the Muzaffarnagar riots: Part 9
This is the continuation of the report on Muzaffarnagar riots accessed by IndiaFacts. Read the previous part here.
Sting operation by Aaj Tak: the biggest expose on the Muzaffarnagar riots. How and why the riots erupted.
Operation Danga (riot): The biggest operation on a simmering Muzaffarnagar and the conspiracy behind it. The police officers and bureaucracy expose all the tricks of Mulayam and Akhilesh on Aaj Tak.
Muzaffarnagar was a city that burned as a result of political conspiracies, the flames of which reached Lucknow after 15 days and New Delhi after 17 days when Mr. Akhilesh and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh visited the city respectively. The prevailing situation in the city is an indication that the political bread is being baked.
More than 40 people have died in these riots and more than 40000 people have been rendered homeless and have become refugees in their own homeland. There are many questions Aaj Tak has tried seeking answers to. Could the Government have stopped these riots? Could the innocent have been saved from death? Were the hands of the police tried? Was the police scared of firing on the rioters?
Expose on Jansat Tehsil
The Kawal village of Muzaffarnagar falls under Jansat tehsil. This is the same place where on 27 August the sparks of the riots were lit, and from where the animosity between the two communities spread. This was then made worse by the one-sided indulgence of political leaders. This is the same Kawal village where Hindus and Muslims have lived together happily for the last 66 years. But now, the village is simmering with hatred.
Aaj Tak did a sting operation in the Circuit House of Jansat tehsil, the findings of which are shocking.
On 27 August, in Kawal village of Muzaffarnagar, Jansat tehsil, an incident relating to eve-teasing resulted in a clash between the two communities such that three people died in less than one hour. This shattered the peace of the entire place.
SDM R.C. Tripathi and Circle Officer J. R. Joshi had just returned after surveying the curfew-clamped city. Joshi had arrested eight people responsible for the riots. They were brought to the police station. Joshi is said to have said that these rioters were the main suspects for the double murder (of Gaurav and Sachin) but then they had to be released the same night because of pressure from the top.
The next part contains an interview with the SDM and CO.
